Using p and p* correctly

Description
The current choice of p and p* in Laura seems incorrect.
We currently use p for the spin terms, and p* for the barrier terms.
After some investigation of the various combinations we conclude that the best option to use is p for both. Note that this is equivalent to using p* for both.
